New Slade In England Version of 'How Does It Feel

THE POLYDOR YEARS ~ 1970

Chas Chandler still deeply convinced that the band would make major stars took steps to call upon his friends in executive places at Polydor Records, friends he had made along the way while bringing legendary guitar player Jimi Hendrix to prominence. Despite the failure of any of their Fontana releases making any impression on the hit parade, Chandler managed to negotiate a deal with Polydor and immediately set about laying down the tracks that would eventually go to make the 'Play It Loud' LP, the majority of which had already been written with a view to a possible release by Fontana had 'The Shape Of Things To Come' been successful.

It wasn't, but the band took the material with them to Polydor and after some reworking the tracks made up the majority of 'Play It Loud' which became the bands first Polydor LP release in November 1970 .............................................................................................................
