The success of the band now demanded that they follow up their first number one hit record and in January of 1972 they did just that with 'Look Wot You Dun' which was a track that Lea and Powell had written in 1970. With a reworking and new lyric from Holder the track was another Europe wide smash hit record, reaching number four in the UK charts.

Their success now seemed assured as a chart band despite murmerings in the so called serious music press of the day who saw them as nothing more than a novelty band competing for singles sales along with the likes of Chicory Tip, Sweet and New World

Their snobbery didn't matter at the time as the band were generating an excitement and a clamour for them not seen since the demise of The Beatles a few years before, indeed Slade were being touted as the next 'Beatles' and the pressure was on to live up to the expectations of some of the more cavalier journalism of the day.

The band were growing in stature with each passing day and with the release of their next single everything would be in place to become the biggest name in the land

The B side was once again an acousticly driven Lea/Powell track 'Candidate'
